I'm coming out here early to pick Pedro. Been following both of these guys on IG for quite awhile, Pedros and OG and Sugars is, well sugar. One guy puts up training vids literally everyday while the other gets baked in his backyard pool, I just gotta back the guys that take this sport seriously. If theres a surprise upset on this card its probably here.

Very interesting fight. It makes you wonder why they made this fight. At first thought you'd think they want Pereira to win to setup a fight with Adesanya and wanted someone in the top 10 who is not a wrestler. I thought that first but now on 2nd thoughts I am not so sure. Sean Strickland is popular and if he beats the guy who knocked out Adesanya that's still a good story and will pull a crowd. Either way the UFC wins.
Anyway with the fight, Pereira is probably the better striker, but with mma gloves I think Strickland is pretty good. His volume and jabs are really slick and he has a very good chin
Pereira obviously has huge power but Sean is very good defensively. Again, volume vs damage on the feet in a 3 rounder. Also important to remember it's in a larger cage.
My thoughts on this are different. I think Sean is very smart despite his social media personality and he wants a win. If he wants to win he has to wrestle and grapple most of each round. And everything I've heard from his camp says that's what he is going to do. He is not stupid. And he is training with wrestlers like Johnny Eblen according to Chris Curtis.
I see this as a striker vs grappler and if it goes down the grappler route I see Sean winning this. Probably a decision. But if it stays on the feet its pretty close. I am edging Sean to win.
