Predictions: 10 of 10 Pending | Tied for 1st with 132 others
Attila Végh, TKO, R2
I have no idea what to think. Vemola has been washed for years and finally got slept, but this other guy is coming back after 5 years. Idk who to pick so I’ll go with the guy who won the last fight
Kozma vs. Surdu
David Kozma, SUB, R2
Surdu alternates between really good, and utter ****. Sometimes he looks great & ends up dusting his opponents, then other times he pulls a loss out of thin air. He can’t really grapple at all and does get sloppy on the feet at times. Kozma can be finished, but I think he will tough this one iut
Duque vs. Machaev
Mochamed Machaev, TKO, R2
I think machaev has a good chance of winning the whole tourney. He is very small and should go back to 145 after this, but his wrestling and physicality will get him far. He may struggle when he runs into Keita or maybe even someone big like wanliss, but other than that I think he is going to easily reach the finals
Silva vs. Gogoladze
Amiran Gogoladze, DEC
I hope we can see gogoladze get another dwcs shot soon. That first time out was so unfortunate. Silva is a tricky vet and very hard to finish, but I think Amirlan has fixed his cardio issues and should win a decision
Korkmaz vs. Amirkhani
Makwan Amirkhani, SUB, R1
It’s impossible to confidently pick makwan, but I actually think this is a decent matchup for him. From what I remember, korkmaz is also a grappler, so that already benefits makwan. But, he’s also not a finish threat at all. Now, that means he can just lay on makwan, but if he’s not hunting for a finish it also gives makwan more chances to win. However, he’s such a glass cannon at this point you just can’t rely on him anymore. I’m gonna pick him but fully expecting another stunt to be pulled
Zawada vs. Mazuch
David Zawada, DEC
I wanna say zawada will win, but he has fallen off of a cliff. That last fight of his was so bad, he was seconds from losing a decision to a can before a miracle heel hook saved him. This other guy does not seem good but given zawada’s recent form I’m not totally sure what to think
Ilbay vs. Tripšanský
Deniz Ilbay, TKO, R2
Ilbay isn’t nearly as good as I thought but he should win this
Legierski vs. Wanliss
Akonne Wanliss, TKO, R1
I don’t really think wanliss is that amazing, but he’s a giant for the weight class and very explosive. I think legierski is gonna get caught with something
Kincl vs. Peňáz
Matěj Peňáz, TKO, R2
I was pretty skeptical of Penaz after he got completely steamrolled by dumas, but I think if they ran it back Penaz wins more often than not. His grappling is not good but his striking is lethal. Dudes got an insane frame and actually knows how to strike. Kincl is a good vet so if this gets extended I can see him grinding it out and finishing penaz, but other than that I think Penaz is gonna ko him
Rock vs. Pokorný
Shem Rock, SUB, R1
Easy one for Shem
