Shinichi Kojima Wiki
Shinichi "BJ" Kojima is a former Shooto Bantamweight (123 lbs.) Champion, and is well known for his series of fights with fellow Japanese flyweight Mamoru Yamaguchi. Kojima has also fought to a draw twice against current UFC flyweight and former Shooto Bantamweight Champion Yasuhiro Urushitani. Yamaguchi and Kojima met for the first time in 2006, in a title fight for the Shooto Bantamweight Championship, at the time held by Yamaguchi. They would fight to a draw, but they would meet again eight months later once again for the title, where Kojima choked Yamaguchi to sleep with a rear naked choke in the first round. After a two fight skid, including one to Bellator champion Eduardo Dantas, "BJ" would defend his title once again against Yamaguchi, this time winning with a third round guillotine choke. After another title defense, this time against Yuki Shojo, Kojima would suffer a knee injury, which would force him to relinquish his Shooto title.
